It was truly delightful to welcome visitors back, when the house reopened to the public on Sunday 24th August. The vast majority were first time visitors and it would not be untrue to say that squeals of delight were heard as discoveries of some of the house’s treasures were made!
It was clear that lockdown has brought a lot more people from the local community into the park over the past few months, including some who remembered Valentines Mansion long before its restoration and others who were simply enchanted to start their discovery of the history of this restored house.
Open Days are Sundays and Mondays and it is free to come into the house between 10.30 – 4pm.
Please be reassured that safety measures are in place for visitors, including wearing a face covering.
There are various new pieces of furniture to see and we have it on good authority that very soon there will be a new art exhibition in the freshly decorated Gallery from resident artist Jason Rose. Watch this space!
The Friends committee have been busy continuing to research the histories of the Mansion’s former owners and look forward to sharing more of these with visitors and members. Please do think about joining us!
We also hope to have news very very soon of some events. In the meantime, we look forward to welcoming you back on Open Days.
