The Friends were initially involved in the restoration project to bring the neglected Mansion back to life. Since the work was completed they have continued to support the house by acquiring items such as the Victorian table purchased for the Holcombe room and the refurbishment of a pair of Victorian chairs, donated by Mrs Phyllis Bowers, that belonged to her grandfather. Our ongoing project is to acquire items to transform the Raymond Room to reflect the period when the house was owned by Sir Charles Raymond.
There have also been developments in the grounds of the Mansion which the Friends have welcomed such as the Owl who appeared at entrance to walled kitchen garden where there was the stump of a sadly dead sycamore tree.
