Artists’ Open Studios
This weekend, you will be able to venture to the top floor where our talented artists will have their doors open to the public. You are sure to find lots of creative and unique gifts, handmade at Valentines.

Who is at home this year?

Sitting down for goose and roast beef at the 1881 family Christmas lunch table are 58-year old grandparents Sarah and Clement Ingleby, their son Arthur and his wife Minnie, two unmarried sons, Holcombe and Herbert, their 20-year old daughter Clementina and her companion Valentina, the daughter of Mrs Findlay the housekeeper.

Where are the grandchildren?
Mrs Findlay are her staff are busy in the kitchen of course! They are also no doubt run off their feet between the kitchen, the servants’ hall, the dining room and the nursery looking after the three Ingleby grandchildren (Arthur and Minnie’s children: Ethel aged 3, Richard soon to be 2 and Charles 7months).
A busy, happy household!
